DRA 0101/0102: Stagecraft I A/B

Credits 1.0 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This is the first of three levels in which students are introduced to the theatre industry through learning the basics of the main areas of technical theatre: scenic carpentry & painting, lighting, sound, costumes, props, stage management, and run crew. Students will also learn industry terminology, theatre history, and gain a general understanding of stage structure and etiquette.

Note: This is a hands-on learning class which follows OSHA safety standards and has a strict dress code for the student’s protection.

DRA 0201/0202: Stagecraft II A/B

Credits 1.0 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This is the second level of Stagecraft in which students will see an increase of projects exploring design areas, leadership, and intermediate technical skills. This course will allow students to gain a deeper understanding of industry standards and begin to discover what area of technical theatre appeals to them. Students in this course will also earn their OSHA - 10 General Industry Certification which may assist in employment opportunities even before graduating high school!

DRA 0301/0302: Stagecraft III A/B

Credits 1.0 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This course is designed for hard working and motivated students looking to complete the Stagecraft Pathway. Students will no longer be learning a bit of everything, rather this course will allow students to focus on the areas of particular interest. Classes may involve design work, drafting standards, professional development, mock-productions, and advanced theatre techniques.

DRA 0322: DCE Stagecraft

Credits 0.5 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This course utilizes Diversified Cooperative Education (DCE) methodology, one teacher responsible for students within multiple program areas, to combine school-based and supervised work-based learning experiences related to the standards identified for the Stagecraft Program.
