FSC 0203/0204 : Fire Service A/B

Credits 1.0 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This course introduces students to careers in Fire Service and prepares them to apply academic, employability and technical knowledge and skills related to common industry standards and practices of the Fire Service. The program utilizes current principles and practices, identified and established by national and state consortiums, to provide technical knowledge and skills that are associated with careers in the fire service. An integrated approach to teaching and learning utilizes classroom instruction of knowledge and practical application of skills. Students will also be introduced to the theme of “Being an 11” and how it relates to LWHS and service to the community.

FSC 0301/0302 : Fire Service Advanced Applications A/B

Credits 1.0 (0.5 Credits Per Semester)

This course is a continuation of FSC0201/0202 and prepares students to apply advanced academic and technical knowledge and skills in a variety of settings within Fire Service. Students completing the program will be prepared to participate in teams, solve problems, think critically and implement effective solutions and they gain knowledge and skills associated with the fire service.

FSC0322 : DCE Fire Service

Credits 0.5

This course utilizes Diversified Cooperative Education (DCE) methodology, one teacher responsible for students within multiple program areas, to combine school-based and supervised work-based learning experiences related to the standards identified for the Fire Service Program.
